Throughout a variety of businesses and industries, all equipment should always be kept in a safe condition that complies with the Electricity at Work Act (1989). Portable appliance testing (PAT) should be carried out on your appliances every 12 months. But what exactly is PAT testing?

Quite simply, it’s the regular evaluation of your equipment to ensure that they’re safe to operate and that handlers aren’t exposed to any unnecessary risks. The law doesn’t inform you how to keep your electrical equipment in satisfactory order, nor is there a strict law on actually carrying it out, but the benefits it can bring to your business and total peace of mind are worth it alone and think about it, if your not completely confident your product is not completely safe, can you or your staff be sure it’s not going to cause a problem in the future?

At DM Electrical, we offer a fully comprehensive PAT testing service. We’re fully insured and all of our engineers are City & Guilds qualified. Our engineers use the latest in handheld PAT testing technology and always carry a copy of the latest PAT tester calibration certificate. We calibrate our PAT testers every twelve months making sure our testers remain 100% accurate. We carry out electrical appliance testing on 110v, 240v and three-phase electrical equipment.
